Welcome to the Psalms! Our church is attempting to walk through the book of Psalms (the Church’s Hymnal) one week at a time, one song at a time. Our goal is to allow the words of the Psalmist to help shape and share God’s story to our hearts as we sing, pray, repent, and listen every Sunday. Songwriters in our church are gathering together and writing music to each Psalm. On this blog you’ll find the lyrics and an mp3 for each week.If you are interested in writing or just joining the process please contact Jonathan. May God bless the reading, singing, and sharing of His word.
Written by Matt Ludwakowski, Psalm 2 is a literal interpretation of the text with a nod to David’s prophecy of Christ coming. Killer.
Why are the nations rising
And all the people devising
And (while) the kings of the earth take their stand against our God
Their rulers counsel together
Saying “let us tear at their fetters”
Against the Lord and His Anointed One
“let us break their cords”
but He who sits on the throne in heaven
In His fury will terrify them
He will establish His King on Zion
His Holy Mountain
Surely declares the Lord
That this my Son
I have begotten Him
He will inherit all the nations
To the ends of the earth
All things that have been
Will be kept and found in Him
We worship you Lord with reverence and praise
We rejoice in your Name with fear
We lift up the son for what he has done
How blessed are we to take refuge in Thee
He who sits on the throne in heaven
His mercy surely will satisfy me
And will establish His King on Zion
He will establish His King on Zion
Jesus Christ is the King of Zion
His Holy Mountain

Wow. This is an amazing and inspiring way to take scripture and make something new out of it.
Thank you for working so hard to glorify our Lord.
