In the life of a believer, it is imperative to engage and connect in a rhythmic fashion with the body of Christ to corporately celebrate the greatness of God and the good news of His gospel! 1027 gathers on Sunday mornings to pray, sing, give, create, converse, read the scripture, hear the scripture, and celebrate the holy sacraments together.
community groups
One of the primary responsibilities of the Church is to encourage and edify the people of God as we live life together. One of the ways that happens at 1027 is in groups of 6-10 people praying, studying the Bible, and eating a meal together in someone’s home either on Sunday’s after church or on any given weeknight. kidscommunity
In the gospel of Matthew Jesus said that children are “the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.” Agreeing whole-heartedly we want to walk in “…humility as a child, that we might inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.” So, at 1027, KidsCommunity starts with YOU…the parent. Families worship together through art, song, & prayer. Then, before the message, kids age infant to 5th grade are invited to engage in crazy fun activities while they learn the eternal truths of the Gospel in a simple and accessible way. We believe that no one is too young to learn about the love of God!
marriage enrichment
Healthy marriages are at the center of healthy ministry, which is at the center of a healthy church. We want to be a healthy church….so we are desperately fighting for our marriages. Marriage Enrichment is a quarterly gathering of everybody who’s married at 1027 to eat a meal together, pray for each other, and find wise counsel as we make room for Christ to take His proper place in our marriage and family.
i love my neighbor
1027 is passionate about the City of Atlanta and the people who live here. Jesus Christ said that the greatest commandment is to Love God and Love your neighbor. We don’t think that the two can be separated. Therefore, through a myriad of ways we encourage a lifestyle that will humbly serve and improve the lives of our neighbors, co-workers, and friends.
africa
Africa is a continent that has seen generations of poverty and misfortune. While transformation seems impossible , it is our responsibility to care for and meet the needs of the African people. 1027 does just that by providing clean drinking water to thirsty people as we work with our friends charity: water. We also are involved in restoring some small villages in the genocide ridden country of Rwanda by buying, serving, and sharing Land of a Thousand Hills coffee.
france
In the fall of 2009, we became friends with David and Sanean Brazzeal who are missionaries in Paris, France. We are in the process of adopting a neighborhood in Paris that 1027 will invest in long term through prayer, art, mercy, justice, and hopefully people.
